R.I.P. Little Girl
So breaking news came through today about a ten year old murder mystery. It shocked the world, and after years of suffering and dead leads, it was believed that the case would never be solved.
I am talking about the muder of six-year-old JonBenet Ramsey.
The beauty pageant winner was stunned with with a stun gun, suspected to be molested, and beaten over the head, before being strangled with a homemade garrot. She was suspected to be kidnapped, consistent with the ransom note left on the back stairs from the third floor to the second floor. The note asked for US$118,000, the exact same amount that John Ramsey received as his Christmas bonus. The not was found just after 5am when Patsy Ramsey woke up on Boxing Day, and not even 8 hours later, JonBenet was found in a cellar room, off the basement. She was found by her father just after 1pm. She was found with the home-made garrot still wrapped around her neck, her nightie was up around her torso and there was blood and semen in her underpants. Her eyes were open and and one arm was above her head, whilst the other was down by her side. Rigor Mortis had set in, and she was cold. This means she was dead when or soon after they found the ransom note.
ANYWAY, the case has been open since 1996, and due to massive mistakes by the local Boulder police, and stubborn-ness by the local detectives who refused to call in the big guns even though they were WAY over their head, no one was ever arrested. For a long time, the parents were the sole suspects, and this theory was further confirmed when the Ramseys refused to be interviwed for 5 months after the event, and furiously sheilded their 9 year old son from investigators, media and police questioning. (Mind you, when he was finally questioned, he faced a gruelling 6 hour straight interrogation.)
However, in 2000 the Ramseys both passed lie detector tests, proving their innocence, although many still thought of them as killers. And hey, there were many theories that seemed well supported. The main one being that Patsy had killed her. thet theory goes that Patsy, a former beauty queen herself, was a hugely pushy stage mother (JonBenet is on record as saying that her trophies for winning the hoardes of child beauty pageants, were her mother's trophies, not hers), and that at the age of 6, JonBenet still wet the bed. Postulators thought that JonBenet had yet again wet the bed and Patsy had flown off the hook and killed her in a fit of rage. Other things pointed to the parents, such as the 3 and a half page ransom note (an intruder would have to be MIGHTY comfortable in that house, AND be certain that no one would come downstairs to find them, to sit and write a 3 page ransom note), "Clearly the kidnapper/murderer bought the note with them!" you say, BUT The note was written using pen and notepad found in the Ramsey kitchen. Also, the handwriting on the not did not match any of the suspects, including the Ramsey family. The ransom was US$118,000, the EXACT amount that John received. Also, a relatively small amount for a family that are multi millionaires.
Another theory was that it was the dude that played Santa Claus at the annual Ramsey Christmas party. He told JonBenet that after Christmas she would get a special present. She told this to the mother of one her friends, and she thought the girl had just been mixed up, and asked her to clarify. JonBenet repeated with certainty that he said AFTER Christmas.
It's a very mysterious case.

In the last 24 hours, 41 year old John Mark Karr has been arrested in Thailand, after some suspicous emails to an investigator.
Karr revealed to the invesigator, details of the crime that were never released to the public or the media. Karr is a former primary school teacher who was looking for simlar work in Thailand. He has come out as saying that it was a kidnap gone wrong, and that he loved her. However, as of yet, there is no obvious connection between the Ramsey family and Karr, who denied to comment over how he knew them. Karr has previously been in jail for child pornography. So yeah, he's a sick bastard. It's weird. Why now? Why then? WHy her? Somethings still don't fit into place for me.
Is it weird that I think he's too scrawny to strangle someone?
